Construction Project Controls & Compliance Coordinator
Position Summary:
The Construction Project Controls & Compliance Coordinator provides critical operational support for civil construction projects by managing project tracking systems, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering accurate reporting. This role serves as a key resource for project managers, field teams, and leadership by maintaining project data integrity, monitoring costs and production metrics, and supporting DOT and fleet compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Project Controls & Reporting
Maintain and manage project data in HCSS HeavyJob and related systems
Track job costs, production quantities, budgets, and progress reporting
Generate regular reports for project managers and leadership
Assist with forecasting, cost tracking, and variance analysis
Support project documentation and record management
Compliance & Regulatory Management
Monitor and maintain DOT compliance records
Manage IFTA tracking, reporting, and documentation
Ensure accurate driver, vehicle, and fleet regulatory records
Support audit preparation and compliance reviews
Operations & Administrative Support
Provide Excel-based reporting, dashboards, and data analysis
Coordinate with project managers, accounting, and field teams
Assist with contract documentation and project administration
Support process improvements and system efficiencies
Qualifications
Experience in civil or heavy construction operations preferred
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Experience with HCSS HeavyJob or similar construction software
Knowledge of DOT regulations and IFTA reporting
Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
